Living with a permanent physical disability, you may require a level of care that cannot be met through scheduled visits available in the community. Guelph Independent Living’s Assisted Living Program provides 24-hour attendant services on a scheduled basis to adults with physical disabilities living in modified apartments within two Guelph apartment buildings. There is also access to on-call assistance available on a priority basis.
Attendant services are non-medical in nature and include assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers, meal preparation and homemaking. Clients qualify for up to six (6) hours of care per day to a maximum of 42 hours per week.
Clients receiving attendant services live independently in their units and are responsible for paying their own living expenses, including rent, telephone, tenant insurance and cable TV. Clients may be eligible for rent subsidies dependent on income level.
